An opportunity for accountability.

Adams County Teen Court provides youth with an opportunity for accountability and competency development while promoting safety in the community.

Adams County Teen Court gives young offenders a way to experience the judiciary system and reduces their likelihood of re-offending.

Teen Court allows teenagers who are first time offenders to have their case heard by a jury of their peers who determine the appropriate sanctions. The program is designed to help the youthful offender:

  • Acknowledge and accept responsibility for his or her actions.
  • Develop pro-social attitudes and behaviors.
  • Understand how their decisions impact their lives, family and community.
  • Reduce his or her likelihood of re-offending and starting a formal legal record.
